In this current world of upside-downs and rollercoasters of grief and joy, maternity photography sessions, as well as newborn and older baby sessions have stayed so close to my heart. I adore outdoor sessions, and they don’t have to be long (time-wise) to be filled with gorgeous images and lovely sunset light.
Katherine and her sweet husband agreed to meet at a new location for me (sometime I usually only take couples to, or maybe a senior for graduation photography) but not typically something I do with little kids. I like to know my location well before-hand. How early does the light fall behind the trees? How bright and open is the sky? Are there any other interesting spots nearby? All questions I ask at any outdoor family photography session.
I was really thrilled with how the light danced around Katherine at this spot. the gorgeous evening sun in the summer does not disappoint, although sometimes I have to wait for it and reschedule things, which isn’t always the easiest thing to do, but I think it’s totally worth it. These are a few of my favorite images from the outdoor maternity session in the Charlotte, NC area.
